Freeminer, The Co-operative Truly Irresistible Salutation Ale (England)
Freeminer brewery has created two special beers to help thirsty royalists celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, both in stores whilst stocks last. Whilst we enjoyed the pale 'Jubilation' Ale, it was this 4.5% ABV
bitter hopped with Goldings and Fuggles that took our fancy most. It has a light bronze/amber colour and rich, creamy-coloured head. Copious creamy malt and herbal notes are immediately appealing over dry, apple
and citrus fruit. Quite full-bodied and rich on the palate, there is a juiciness at the core of this beer but also a soft, pillowing texture and enough bitterness to give this some clout. Deeper chocolaty and
malty notes of richness come through too joining the hoppy notes, in a rather satisfying bottle with which to toast a remarkable 60 years on the throne. 4.5% ABV, 50cl, 1.69, The Co-operative.
