In 1991 brewing was restored after the long communist period in Humpolec, Czech Republic, on a site where a brewery was first established in the 16th century. The modern brewery is now a joint stock company and is run in association with the Belgian brewing group Moortgat, famous for Duvel strong golden ale.
Bernard Brewery, Dark (Czech Republic)
The Bernard brewery has the advantage of its own floor malting where the finest Moravian barley is used floor malting are considered to produce the sweetest grain for brewing.
